On 9 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, spoke about the progress of investigations and arrests of politicians and former MPs suspected of links to online gambling, scammers, and drugs, involving about 10 individuals, including former MPs and current MP candidates.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphon said the work is currently under investigation. He could not specify a date for the operation, stating it depends on clear evidence from investigators before the operation can begin.
When asked if there was definite information that current MPs are involved in online gambling, scammers, and drugs, Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphon declined to answer.
