Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Koraknok in Lottery Overpricing Case After Failing to Appear for Verdict

The court has issued an arrest warrant for Koraknok Anukulkitjai, an authorized director of Hong Thong Company, who fled and failed to attend the verdict hearing in the case of selling lottery tickets above the official price. The verdict reading is rescheduled for 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7.

At 09:30 on 12 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at Criminal Court courtroom 608, the Appeals Court convened to hear the verdict in a case where the Economic and Resource Prosecutor’s Office 1 filed charges against Hong Thong Online Lottery Public Company Limited as defendant 1, and Ms. Koraknok Anukulkitjai as defendant 2 in her capacity as an authorized director. They were charged with jointly conducting a direct selling business without registering the business and jointly selling lottery tickets at prices exceeding the official government lottery rates. The defendants denied the charges.

In this case, the Criminal Court sentenced Hong Thong Company, defendant 1, to a fine of 10,000 baht. Defendant 2 received a one-year prison sentence without suspension. Defendant 2 was granted bail.

Previously, on 6 Nov 2025 GMT+7, the Appeals Court scheduled a verdict reading for this case but postponed it because defendant 2 did not appear in court. The reading was rescheduled for today. However, at the appointed time, only the defendant’s lawyer appeared, while the defendant was absent. The lawyer informed the court that defendant 2 could not be contacted. Consequently, the court ordered an arrest warrant for the defendant, fined the bail guarantor, and postponed the verdict reading to 2 Mar 2026 GMT+7.
