Nakhon Pathom Police Chief Orders Swift Crackdown on Mad Dog Gang After Beer Garden Shooting Clash

Two gunmen were arrested at a hospital following a shooting clash in a beer garden at Village 8, Om Yai Subdistrict, Sam Phran District. One of them is the son of a local politician and also the leader of the "Mad Dog" gang. The Nakhon Pathom police chief ordered a crackdown and pursuit of accomplices involved in the incident for prosecution.

At 00:30 on 11 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanakorn Purikawinlert, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Pho Kaeo Police Station in Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom, was notified of a shooting incident at a beer garden next to Om Yai Park Market, also known as the Thousand Shops Market, Village 8, Om Yai Subdistrict, Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom. Multiple people were reportedly injured. He informed Police Colonel Chulaphon Meechamnarn, Chief of Pho Kaeo Police Station, who, along with the investigative team, proceeded to the scene.

Upon arrival, inside the establishment, tables were overturned and scattered. Two people were confirmed injured by gunfire and were taken by good Samaritans to Vichaivej Hospital in Om Noi, Samut Sakhon. At the scene, police found two 11 mm bullet casings and six 9 mm casings, which were collected as evidence. Surveillance footage from cameras inside the shop and neighboring houses was also reviewed.

At Vichaivej Hospital, both injured men were identified. Mr. Pasit Joksuwan, 40, from Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom, was shot in the right leg with a 9 mm bullet and was receiving treatment. The second, Mr. Sophon Wichitkajornpol, 52, also from Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom, was shot in the waist with an 11 mm bullet. Both were reported to be in stable condition.

Police also recovered two automatic pistols handed over by hospital staff, which the injured parties had with them. One was a 9 mm Glock owned by Mr. Pasit, and the other an 11 mm Colt owned by Mr. Sophon. Both firearms were secured as evidence.

Initial investigation revealed that less than a week before the shooting, Mr. Pasit Joksuwan, owner of the Om Yai Park beer garden, and Mr. Sophon Wichitkajornpol, son of a local politician and leader of the "Mad Dog" gang with many members, had a conflict at a restaurant in Krathum Baen District, Samut Sakhon. The disagreement escalated to the point where both groups prepared to fight, but police intervened and separated them. Despite this, they continued to verbally challenge each other. On the day of the incident, Mr. Sophon received a report from his gang members that Mr. Pasit had opened his beer garden near the Thousand Shops Market. Mr. Sophon then gathered about 30 gang members and headed to the beer garden. Upon seeing Mr. Pasit inside, who was dining with several others, Mr. Sophon shouted a challenge to shoot. Mr. Pasit ran to the back to retrieve a gun, and both sides opened fire. Customers inside fled in panic upon hearing the gunshots.

After the gunfire ceased, both sides fled. The two injured men, Mr. Pasit and Mr. Sophon, were hospitalized. Residents helped take them to the hospital, and police arrested suspects at the hospital. Both sides face charges including unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying firearms in public without permission, reckless use of explosives in a community, and attempted murder. Police have detained them for prosecution and reported the case to Police Major General Phithak Upphong, Commander of Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police. He has ordered the arrest of all accomplices from both sides for legal action.
