Narathiwat authorities have released CCTV footage showing six suspects dressed in black carrying bombs concealed inside fire extinguishers during a sabotage attack involving explosions and arson at a gas station. Officials believe the suspects are the same group responsible for a similar incident three years ago.
On 12 January 2026, reporters provided updates on the incident involving suspects who planted bombs and set fires at PTT gas stations in Thailand's three southern border provinces, affecting 11 locations on 11 January 2026.
Recently, examination of CCTV cameras installed at the entrance of the PTT gas station located in Ban Kwalao Sira, Village No. 3, Pase Mas Subdistrict, Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat Province, recorded the behavior of six suspects involved in the attack. They were dressed in black, with some armed with military-grade firearms acting as guards.
Four of the six suspects carried fire extinguishers weighing 20 kg each, used as containers for homemade explosives. As the group emerged from a large bush opposite the gas station entrance, they encountered a group of teenage boys and girls who had just purchased items from the convenience store. The youths quickly mounted a motorcycle and fled the scene.
Authorities have collected this footage as evidence to compare with previous CCTV recordings of similar suspects committing the same type of attack at this gas station three years ago. Officials believe the suspects involved this time are the same group.
