
Cyber police raided and arrested Ratchapong Soisuwan People's Party candidate for Tak Province's 2nd district linked to gambling profit benefits
On 15 January 2026, reporters reported that Police Lieutenant General Surapol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, along with Police Major Generals Wiwat Kamchamnarn, Chatchapan Kan Klayklung, and Police Major General Thinkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commanders of the Cyber Crime Bureau, ordered Police Major General Komkrit Sookthai, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 3, and Police Major General Kritchya Bamrungrattanasot, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 4, to lead officers from Divisions 3 and 4 to jointly arrest Mr. Ratchapong "Pond" Soisuwan, 32, under Criminal Court warrant no. 196/69 dated 13 January 2026. He was charged with "jointly organizing gambling, using schemes or advertisements to directly or indirectly invite others to play or gamble via electronic media without official permission, conspiring to launder money, and jointly laundering money." The arrest took place at his residence in the Nuanchan area on Nawamin Road, Bangkok.
During the investigation, police tracked the online gambling site named Nakarin, which was offering online gambling services. After investigation and tracing activities, police found that Mr. Ratchapong Soisuwan is a People's Party candidate for Tak Province's 2nd district and is involved as a beneficiary of the said gambling website.
At 15:00 today, at the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau in Pak Kret, Muang Thong Thani, Minister of Justice Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphon Naowarat and Police Lieutenant General Surapol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Bureau, will jointly hold a press conference on the cyber crime investigation bureau's operation results.
