At 09:15 on 15 Jan 2026, reports emerged of a construction crane collapse on Rama 2 Road in Samut Sakhon Province, causing significant alarm among morning commuters.
The incident occurred just before the Tha Chin Bridge, at a site of elevated expressway construction. Initially, two deaths were confirmed, while the number of injured remains unknown. Following the collapse, police, rescue teams, and related agencies immediately secured the area, closed some traffic lanes for safety, and facilitated traffic flow for passing motorists.
