
Police Major General Thinkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, clarified that the case involving Chonnapat Nakso, a Songkhla MP candidate from the Kla Tham Party, has been fully investigated. Whether he will be arrested depends on the prosecutor's discretion.
Regarding the announcement by the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) following the 1/2026 Transactions Committee meeting on 12 Jan 2026, the committee resolved to take action against assets linked to drug offenses, corruption in public office, public fraud, habitual fraud, electronic media gambling, and other predicate offenses in the case of Mr. Chonnapat Nakso, former MP and Songkhla constituency 4 candidate from the Kla Tham Party, and associates. They operated the “gimi888” website and others. The matter has been submitted to prosecutors to request a court order to confiscate 69 assets valued at about 158 million baht.
The latest update, at 14:30 on 15 January 2026 at the Technology Crime Suppression Division headquarters in Muang Thong Thani, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, Police Major General Thinkorn Rangmat said the case of Mr. Chonnapat Nakso, Songkhla MP, must be divided according to responsible authorities.
It is divided into three parts: first, the police have completed the case file and sent it to the prosecutor for indictment consideration; second, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) is currently freezing assets for investigation; third, the Department of Special Investigation has accepted the case as a special money laundering case.
Whether Mr. Chonnapat will be arrested will depend on the prosecutor’s discretion in deciding whether to proceed with charges or not.
