
The head of security at a luxury Phuket hotel has surrendered after attempting to break into a female DJ's room. He was found to have used a daily housekeeper master key card and deleted CCTV footage from the time of the incident. He has been charged with attempted home intrusion at night.
On 17 January 2026, a clip was shared on social media showing a female DJ who was staying at a luxury hotel in Phuket but experienced an unsafe incident inside her accommodation.
Later on 17 January 2026 at 15:56, Ms. Mirinda (surname withheld) reported to the Cherng Talay Police Station for an official complaint. She stated that on 16 January 2026 at about 22:00, while inside her hotel room at the luxury hotel, an unknown man attempted to open her door with a key card but failed because she had locked the door from the inside. Police will investigate further to identify and prosecute the suspect.
Latest developments on 18 January 2026: Investigators reviewed hotel CCTV footage and identified the suspect as Sergeant Kanisorn, 39, a former military personnel and head of the hotel’s security team. On that day, he had finished his shift at 16:00 but did not go home and instead stayed hidden inside the hotel’s office.
Investigation revealed the suspect was wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and sandals. He used a daily housekeeper master key card, which he was responsible for, to try opening several rooms near the victim’s. He then went to the victim’s room, rang the doorbell, knocked, and said “Hello” before running to hide at a building corner. Later, he returned, used the master key card to open the door, and tried to enter, but the victim had locked the door from inside, pushed the door, and shouted loudly, causing him to flee.
It was also found that the suspect deleted CCTV footage from the time of the incident, but the hotel was able to recover the data.
Police from Cherng Talay station tracked down the suspect and brought him to the investigators to file charges and record a complaint as criminal case 19/2569. The case is under legal investigation. Meanwhile, the hotel has terminated the suspect’s employment contract.
Initially, the police charged him with attempted home intrusion at night.
Reports state the suspect was not detained because he surrendered voluntarily and no arrest warrant has been issued. He has been summoned to appear at Phuket Provincial Court tomorrow; if he fails to appear, an arrest warrant will be issued and legal action will follow.
