
The Phuket Provincial Court granted bail to the chief security officer of a well-known Phuket hotel who attempted to enter a female DJ's room. Bail was set at 50,000 baht, with the condition that he wear an EM bracelet.
A video of the incident circulated on social media after a female DJ checked into a luxury hotel in Phuket but encountered a security breach. On 17 Jan 2026 at 15:56 GMT+7, Ms. Mirinda (surname withheld) reported to the Cherngtalay Police Station that on 16 Jan 2026 at about 22:00 GMT+7 while staying in her hotel room, an unknown man tried to enter her room using a key card but failed because the door was locked. Police investigated and identified the suspect as Sergeant Kanisorn, 39, a former soldier and the hotel's chief security officer, who later turned himself in to authorities as previously reported.
Most recently, at 14:45 GMT+7 on 19 Jan 2026, Sergeant Kanisorn, the security officer at a five-star hotel near Surin Beach, Cherngtalay Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket Province, appeared at Phuket Provincial Court as summoned by Cherngtalay Police. The suspect continued to deny the allegations, claiming he intended only to check on the premises. Police had initially detained him for 48 days. Relatives requested bail set at 50,000 baht and proposed he wear an EM bracelet. The court granted bail under specified conditions.
