
Pol. Lt. Gen. Phisit Tanprasert, Commander of Region 7 Police, revealed that the brutal murderer of a female hotel employee exhibited behavior resembling drug intoxication. He claimed he only wanted money before attacking her with an iron rod he found on the street.
In the case of a male suspect who broke in and assaulted Ms. Wirin, a female hotel employee in Hua Hin district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, using an iron rod to strike her head, then robbed her phone and wallet, authorities later identified the perpetrator as Ratthikorn Yingyod, 36, from Nakhon Ratchasima province. They gathered evidence and obtained a court warrant for his arrest, as previously reported.
The latest update at 15:30 on 20 Jan: The investigation team, consisting of Region 7 Police investigators and the Crime Suppression Division, successfully tracked down and arrested Ratthikorn. He was captured in Hua Hin soi 42, not far from where his discarded clothes were found. He is currently being taken in for questioning.
Key leads that led to the suspect’s arrest began with the discovery of clothes he wore during the crime, which he had discarded under a railway bridge. Officers then reviewed nearby CCTV footage to trace the suspect’s escape route, which ultimately led to his capture.
Meanwhile, Pol. Lt. Gen. Phisit Tanprasert told reporters that the suspect initially claimed he only wanted money before assaulting the victim with an iron rod found on the street. The suspect showed signs consistent with drug intoxication and did not know the victim. Preliminary understanding suggests the act was unplanned, though he may have scouted the area beforehand.
