Sam brutally kills hotel employee, refuses reenactment fearing vigilante justice

Police are urgently questioning "Sam," who claims he only intended to steal. He refuses to take part in a crime reenactment, citing fear of vigilante justice.

In this case, Ms. Nui, 35, a female hotel employee, was attacked by a man who climbed over the counter and repeatedly struck her head with a metal pipe. He then fled with two phones and the employee’s black bag. The suspect was later identified as Mr. Rattikorn Yingyod, also known as Sam, 36. Authorities have now arrested the suspect, as previously reported.

Today (21 Jan 2026) at Hua Hin Police Station, the atmosphere was rather quiet because Sam is not being held at the station due to concerns over his safety.

Police Colonel Kampanat Na Wichai, chief of Hua Hin Police Station, said that initially police are holding Sam at a station in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province but declined to specify the location to avoid any danger.

Sam is currently undergoing detailed questioning. He maintains his original statement that his intent was theft. Authorities will collect Sam’s DNA to compare with evidence from the weapon used and will also check latent fingerprints to support the case.

There will be no reenactment of the confession because the police have sufficient evidence, especially from CCTV footage. Additionally, the suspect himself declined the reenactment, fearing vigilante justice.
