Sek Loso Transferred to Temporary Khaokling Prison to Prepare for Release Eligible for Sentence Suspension

Sek Loso was transferred from Minburi Special Prison to the temporary Khaokling Prison in Phetchaburi Province after qualifying for the pre-release preparation program, making him eligible for a general sentence suspension.

On 23 Jan 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that on 20 May 2025 GMT+7, the Minburi Criminal Court read the Supreme Court judgment on the case where the public prosecutor charged Sek San Sukpimai, also known as Sek Loso, under case numbers A.1662/2018 and Daeng A.8288/2018, for obstructing officials performing their duties, drug use, and possession of firearms and ammunition without authorization under the 1947 Firearms and Ammunition Act. The Supreme Court amended the sentence to 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days imprisonment. Authorities then detained Sek San at Minburi Special Prison, where he has been held for over eight months.

Later, on 20 Jan 2026 GMT+7, there was news from Mrs. Wipakorn Sukpimai, or Kan, Sek San's wife, who informed followers and fans that Sek San was about to be transferred from Minburi Special Prison to the temporary Khaokling Prison in Phetchaburi Province.

According to reports, Sek San belongs to a group of inmates preparing for release and has been imprisoned at Minburi Special Prison for over eight months. The transfer to temporary Khaokling Prison in Phetchaburi was because he qualified for the pre-release preparation program, which allows for general sentence suspension.

However, before consideration for sentence suspension, Sek San must participate in various programs at the temporary Khaokling Prison. This facility operates similarly to an open correctional institution, aiming to provide vocational training and prepare inmates for release—standard practice previously implemented by the Department of Corrections.

Therefore, once Sek San completes the vocational training course under the pre-release preparation program, his eligibility for the general sentence suspension program will be reviewed.

The temporary Khaokling Prison is located in Wang Chan Subdistrict, Kaeng Krachan District, Phetchaburi Province, on 580 rai of land about 10 km from Kaeng Krachan National Park. It serves as a vocational training center for inmates before release, incorporating the philosophy of sufficiency economy into training to help inmates develop skills for post-release livelihoods.

Besides serving as a pre-release preparation center, the prison also welcomes government agencies and private sector visitors for study tours. The Department of Corrections has directed the temporary prison to upgrade and develop into a tourist destination where the public can visit, relax, and learn. Key attractions include earth houses and various animals such as peacocks, goats, sheep, deer, and horses, with opportunities for visitors to ride horses and feed them for enjoyment.

Additionally, there is a coffee shop for tourists and learning bases on sufficiency economy, including growing various vegetables like morning glory, kale, and climbing wattle. Animal husbandry includes raising cattle, water buffalo, ornamental animals, laying hens, black chickens, rabbit breeding, dogs, and fighting cocks. Vocational training also covers charcoal kiln and adobe brick making. The prison runs the "Khon Nong Na of Kindness and Hope" project, a royal initiative helping inmates develop sufficiency economy-based livelihoods on small plots, enabling released inmates with farmland to continue applying these skills.
