Lawyer Arnanphong revealed that the female student involved is mentally distressed and has filed a complaint against Lawyer Kaew for indecent acts. Other charges remain under investigation. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner has called a meeting to follow up and expedite the case.
Regarding the case of Lawyer Kaew, or Mr. Monchai Jongkairattanakul, accused of molesting an 18-year-old female student who is the daughter of a close associate of Lawyer Kaew. The incident occurred in Lawyer Kaew's luxury car after arranging to meet the victim for coffee at a department store in the Rama 3 area. While traveling from the Rama 3 mall to a noodle shop in Wang Thonglang, the incident happened on 12 September 2025 GMT+7.
At 13:30 on 23 January 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, arrived at Wang Thonglang Police Station to call Police Colonel Jetsada Yangnok, Chief of Wang Thonglang Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthiraphong Chaisiri, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Wang Thonglang Police Station, and female investigators to expedite and monitor the case proceedings. The meeting lasted nearly one hour before he departed.
It was reported that the victim's guardian had taken the student to file a complaint with the female investigators at Wang Thonglang Police Station, with Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthiraphong Chaisiri closely overseeing the case during the afternoon of 22 January 2026 GMT+7.
Later, at 15:15 on 23 January 2026 GMT+7, reporters contacted Mr. Arnanphong Boonsawang, or "Lawyer Peng," the lawyer representing the female party involved with Lawyer Kaew.
Mr. Arnanphong revealed that the complaint has been filed on the charge of indecent acts. Currently, this is the only charge; other charges are under investigation. He could not disclose which police station received the complaint as the investigators are still processing the case and to protect the victim.
He added that the victim’s mental state is quite poor due to the leaking of chat messages and some evidence through IO pages, causing great concern and emotional distress. He believes that factual evidence should be kept within the case files and should not be debated publicly in the media as it could distort information.
When asked if Lawyer Kaew had tried to negotiate after the press conference, Mr. Arnanphong said it was not appropriate to discuss at this time. Many intermediaries are involved, which might cause confusion or further conflicts. He also does not want Lawyer Kaew to lose face or for the situation to worsen.
