The Metropolitan Police Commissioner revealed that the case of an 18-year-old woman filing a complaint against "Lawyer Kaew" is moving forward according to procedure. Female investigators have been assigned as requested by the victim's guardians. At this stage, a summons is being prepared, but it has not yet reached the point of an arrest warrant.

At 3:00 p.m. on 24 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Metropolitan Police Commissioner, spoke about the case involving "Lawyer Kaew," or Mr. Montchai Jongkairattanakul, who is accused of indecently assaulting a female student. After the victim filed a complaint against Lawyer Kaew at Wang Thonglang Police Station for indecent acts, the victim has scheduled to provide information to the police there. Female investigators have been assigned as requested by the victim and her guardians. For cases involving women, female investigators are prepared because some women may feel uncomfortable giving statements to male investigators. The exact date and time for questioning are yet to be confirmed. The case will proceed based on evidence, ensuring fairness to both sides.

When asked whether a summons or arrest warrant would be issued for the well-known lawyer, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam said that initially the police will issue a summons. Everything will follow the proper procedure. The entire process depends on first questioning the victim.

Regarding concerns about interference with witnesses in this case, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam stated that some messages exchanged on social media have been collected as evidence by investigators. However, discretion is needed when viewing or listening to such content, as sharing and commenting might affect others and could result in lawsuits. Therefore, public comments must remain within legal boundaries and not infringe on others' rights.

When asked if Lawyer Kaew's press statement yesterday (23 Jan) admitting to some physical contact such as hugging and kissing would be used in the investigation, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam said that the police have included this as part of the evidence. The accused is expected to soon come forward to acknowledge the charges and provide statements to the investigators.
