The investigation team of the Internet Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Unit, TICAC, arrested an 18-year-old man for inappropriate behavior, sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl relative.
On 25 Jan 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembut, Commander of TICAC, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander assigned to the Royal Thai Police Office, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wiwat Khamchamnan, Deputy Commander of TICAC, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thinkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commander of TICAC, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Songkrod Krekkritya, Commander of the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Unit, ordered Pol. Col. Theeranont Manmongkol, Chief of the Internet Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Unit, and Pol. Lt. Col. Phichit Iangsa, Deputy Chief of the same unit,
to lead officers with a search warrant from Kantharalak Provincial Court No. Kor.1/2569 dated 13 Jan 2026 to search a house in Krasaeng Subdistrict, Kantharalak district, Si Sa Ket province. They arrested Mr. Ratchaphruek (surname withheld), 18, a technical college student in Si Sa Ket, seizing two mobile phones on charges of “possessing child pornography for sexual exploitation of oneself or others.”
The TICAC investigation team received a tip that a male individual was exhibiting inappropriate behavior and likely committing sexual acts against a cousin. This misconduct regularly involved recording images and videos of the abuse for retention.
Later, Pol. Col. Theeranont Manmongkol ordered officers to investigate and identify the uploader of the child pornography material. The inquiry indicated that Mr. Ratchaphruek sexually abused a child in Kantharalak district, Si Sa Ket. They gathered evidence and obtained a search warrant to raid his residence, arresting him and seizing his mobile phones. Examination revealed videos of abuse involving a 6-year-old female relative and other child pornography clips.
Initially, Mr. Ratchaphruek admitted he recorded the videos of sexually abusing the 6-year-old girl relative to keep for personal viewing and did not distribute them. The abuse occurred inside the bedroom on the first floor of the searched house since mid-2024. Other child pornography videos found on his phones were downloaded from the internet via the Discord application and kept for viewing only. He remains in custody pending legal proceedings.
