Police Pursue Three Trailer Drivers for Illegally Replacing Diesel Fuel Worth 3.6 Million Baht with Water

Three trailer drivers illegally siphoned B-0 diesel fuel worth over 3.6 million baht, replacing it with water before delivering to an oil rig vessel. They have since fled. Sattahip Police are urgently tracking them down for prosecution, checking the trailers' GPS coordinates for any suspicious stops along the route.

On 26 Jan 2026, reporters learned that on the evening of 25 Jan 2026 at Sattahip Police Station, Chonburi Province, Mr. Thanaporn Udomrattanakulchai, 35, transport department manager of a petroleum product transport company, filed a complaint with Lt. Natthapong Kalpanart, investigating officer at Sattahip Police Station, to press charges against three trailer drivers after discovering they had illegally siphoned B-0 diesel from their trucks and replaced it with water.

Inspection revealed that each of the three trailers carried 42,000 liters of diesel, totaling 126,000 liters. The value per truck was 1,218,000 baht, with total damages exceeding 3,654,000 baht. The fuel was scheduled for delivery to a vessel preparing to depart for an oil drilling rig at Juk Samet Pier, Samaesan Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.

Later, at 19:30, vessel staff preparing to receive fuel from the trailers conducted quality checks and found the tanks contained only water for all three trailers, out of five that came to deliver. The three trailer drivers then became aware and fled the scene.

Sattahip Police inspected the scene and confirmed all three trailers were filled with water, while the drivers had already fled. The diesel was originally loaded at a storage facility in Map Ta Phut, Rayong Province, around 09:30 before heading to Juk Samet Pier, where the irregularity was detected.

Initially, Pol. Col. Komsan Kamtunkaew, Chief of Sattahip Police, ordered the investigative team to begin working overnight to examine the GPS data of the three trailers for any suspicious stops along their routes, to collect evidence and track down the drivers for legal action.
