Soldier Surrenders After Firing Gun to Threaten Oom Pansuk Family, Explains Motive

A soldier who fired a gun to threaten the family of “Oom Pansuk” surrendered to police at Muang Udorn Thani Police Station after his unit filed a complaint requesting an arrest warrant on charges of trespassing and attempted murder. The suspect disclosed the reasons behind his actions.

On 26 Jan 2026, developments arose regarding Sgt. Akrapol Munudom, or Sergeant Dew, 40, a combat engineer soldier stationed at a camp in Udorn Thani province. He was reported to have threatened and fired a gun at the family of “Oom Soraya” or “Oom Pansuk,” a well-known sexy influencer. Col. Richcha Suksuwan, Deputy Army Spokesperson, stated that after the soldier’s unit filed a complaint with police seeking an arrest warrant on charges of trespassing and attempted murder, authorities took action.

This afternoon, the suspect voluntarily surrendered to officers at the Non Sung branch of Muang Udorn Thani Police Station.

About an hour after surrendering, Pol. Col. Patanawong Janpon, Chief of Muang Udorn Thani Police Station, revealed that Sergeant Dew is the suspect named in arrest warrants issued by the 24th Military Circle Court: warrant no. 2/2569 for charges of “attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, carrying firearms in a village and public places without justification, and property damage,” and warrant no. 1/2569 for “unjustified entry into another’s residence with a weapon, carrying firearms belonging to another person authorized by law, and carrying firearms in towns, villages, or public places without permission.” He surrendered and wished to explain to the media.

Sgt. Akrapol Munudom, or Sergeant Dew, 40, said he fully admits everything. He does not want to bring disgrace to the Army. He insisted there was reason and purpose behind his actions. He wants to fight the case legally and his primary motive was to protect the honor of his two children. He acknowledged the facts and is willing to face the legal process. He emphasized that all his actions have a basis and were to protect his son and daughter. He described himself as a man who dares to face the truth. The clips released show he was already disciplined under military law. He questioned why those clips were brought out again and the reason for his visit to the house was because clips were posted again. The incident occurred in 2022 and he was already punished. He wonders why it was brought up again and used for media exposure. He asked if anyone listened to his side. He said he and his ex-wife raised their two children. He feels great pressure but is willing to accept responsibility as a man. He challenged anyone to face him if they disagree.

“My ex-wife did not raise the children and is in over 2 million baht of illegal debt. I was unaware of this debt when it was incurred but I am responsible. I have full details. If it were baseless, I wouldn’t act. I take full responsibility for my children. I do not contact my ex-wife because I dislike her the most—she does not care for her own children. The reason I went to the house was because she posted clips online and filed complaints against me using social media. Who is “Oom Pansuk”? What does she have to do with my ex-wife and why file complaints against me? Our divorce is finalized. I submitted my resignation letter in October; the order will be effective in April. So why post those clips again? Whether I am dismissed or not, I accept it all. I divorced in March 2025, with two formal divorces registered. I do not regret the money lost; it relates to that house because money was transferred there.”

Mrs. Noi, 63, Sergeant Dew’s mother, said the former daughter-in-law owes multiple illegal debts and creditors have come to their home and clinic to collect. Her son had to settle these debts. She does not know what her daughter-in-law spent the money on. She helps with expenses for her two grandchildren, including fuel and school fees. The former daughter-in-law is attractive, and Mrs. Noi never let her suffer or ride a motorcycle home alone. While living with her son, they never argued but financial issues arose due to illegal debts. Creditors pressured her son because of overspending. The main debts are likely formal, while the illegal debts amount to tens of thousands paid off. Mrs. Noi once lent 30,000 baht to pay lottery debts and borrowed from relatives. The impact goes beyond their family, affecting neighbors too.

“My son was wrong to act emotionally and hot-headed. He once stayed in the south, and I had to bring him back to hear both sides. Everything happened due to cause and conditions—don’t judge too quickly. They share karma, whether in this life or a past one. I support my son; he must accept the truth and his mistakes and start anew. He is a very good father and maintains a big house clean.”
