The Deputy Commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police led a team to announce the crackdown on motorcycle gangs, seizing modified motorcycles with loud exhaust pipes that caused public disturbance. They destroyed the exhaust pipes in front of reporters to show their determination.
On 26 January 2026, Police Colonel Sutat Songsayom, Deputy Commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Police, together with Police Colonel Kittichai Krainara, Superintendent of Nakhon Si Thammarat City Police Station, city police officers, and local government officials held a press conference announcing the crackdown on motorcycle gangs. They seized a total of 160 modified motorcycles and 150 loud aftermarket exhaust pipes that disturbed the public. This operation was conducted following the policy of the Provincial Police Commander of Nakhon Si Thammarat and the Royal Thai Police.
At the press conference, tools and equipment for destroying modified exhaust pipes were prepared, including sledgehammers and metal cutters.
After the press conference concluded, the exhaust pipes were destroyed in front of the media as a symbolic gesture. Police officers at various ranks—including inspectors, deputy commanders, superintendents, and deputy provincial commanders—demonstrated using sledgehammers to break the exhaust pipes before the press. Although their uniforms were tight-fitting, this did not hinder their demonstration in any way.
