Legal advisor to MP Bal, “Palakorn Pimphanit,” a Pheu Thai Party candidate, submitted a letter seeking fairness from cyber police, firmly denying any involvement with gambling websites, citing his family’s good financial status. He expressed full cooperation with authorities in all matters and stated he will not flee.
At 16:30 on 29 January 2026, at the Technology Crime Investigation Division 3, Mr. Torchat Karsaiw, legal advisor to Mr. Palakorn Pimphanit, Pheu Thai Party MP candidate for Kalasin Province’s second district, submitted a letter seeking fairness on behalf of Mr. Palakorn. Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanet Kalakul, head of Division 2, Technology Crime Investigation Division 3, received the letter from the legal advisor to forward it through proper administrative channels to commanding officers and the lead investigators.
After submitting the letter to the Technology Crime Investigation Division 3, Mr. Torchat Karsaiw, legal advisor to Mr. Palakorn Pimphanit, Pheu Thai Party MP candidate for Kalasin Province’s second district, spoke to the media saying he was authorized by Mr. Palakorn to deliver the letter expressing intent and seeking fairness from police officials.
He explained that Mr. Palakorn, a former MP for Kalasin Province and current MP candidate in the same area, is not involved in the matter. Police have issued arrest warrants for a provincial councilor from Kalasin suspected of involvement in online gambling. Mr. Palakorn is not connected to this councilor through business or investment; they only know each other personally. After Mr. Palakorn became MP, he helped a junior acquaintance become a provincial councilor.
Mr. Torchat added that the news caused harm to Mr. Palakorn’s reputation, despite no involvement. Therefore, they submitted this letter to seek fairness from police and are ready to cooperate fully, undergo investigation, and respond to charges without any intention to flee.
“The arrest warrant does not affect Mr. Palakorn’s election campaign, as he continues to live normally and canvass daily. However, he is concerned about his family’s feelings and wants to emphasize that he has no business ties with the two councilors. His family is financially well-off and has no connection to gambling. He is fully willing to cooperate with police in all matters.”
The letter dated 29 January 2026, addressed to the Commander of Technology Crime Investigation Division 3 at the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), refers to the press briefing on 24 January 2026 regarding the arrest warrant issued for a Kalasin provincial councilor accused of involvement with online gambling. Media reports suggested that the writer was also implicated, and the TCSD sought a warrant for him. Mr. Palakorn Pimphanit states that as a Pheu Thai Party candidate for Kalasin Province’s second electoral district, with elections scheduled for 8 February 2026, the warrant request at this time would cause significant harm to him and the party. He requests that if there is evidence against him, he be summoned first to explain and present evidence, to which he is fully willing to cooperate. Having previously served as an MP with stable residence and occupation, he has no intention to evade or obstruct investigation, especially during the campaign period when he must remain in his electoral area.
He respectfully requests fairness in considering the police’s request for the arrest warrant, expressing gratitude in advance and asking for careful consideration.
