17-Year-Old Shoots 23-Year-Old Man Seven Times to Death on Phetkasem Road Police Reveal Motive

A 23-year-old man was shot seven times and killed on Phetkasem Road. Investigation revealed the perpetrator is a 17-year-old boy currently fleeing. The motive is believed to be from a prior dispute.

On 30 Jan 2026, it was reported that at 20:00 on 29 Jan, Police Lieutenant Colonel Woraphon Atsawong, duty inspector at Khao Yoi Police Station, Phetchaburi Province, received a report of a shooting death on Phetkasem Road’s parallel lane (inbound to Bangkok), Moo 2, Sraphang Subdistrict, Khao Yoi District. He notified Police Colonel Thip Khaengkhum, Deputy Commander of Phetchaburi Provincial Police, and Police Colonel Niyom Suaywong, Chief of Khao Yoi Police Station. They led officers to the scene, coordinating with Phetchaburi Forensics Police, on-call doctors at Khao Yoi Hospital, and rescue volunteers from Sawang Sanphet Foundation for support.

At the scene, a gray-black Honda PCX 150 motorcycle with Phetchaburi registration was found tipped over by the roadside. Next to it lay the body of the victim, later identified as Mr. Thanarat, nicknamed Boss, aged 23. He had been shot six times in the abdomen and once in the right elbow with a 9mm firearm. Also found were an electronic cigarette on the ground, seven 9mm cartridge casings, and two bullet heads.

Witnesses reported that before the incident, they saw Mr. Thanarat riding alone on his motorcycle. When he reached the scene, two young men on a red dirt bike, brand and registration unknown, followed behind. They called him to stop, and one of them then drew a gun and fired multiple shots at Mr. Thanarat, causing him to fall from his motorcycle and lie motionless.

The assailants then turned their motorcycles around, riding against traffic to flee toward the center of Mueang Phetchaburi District. Nearby citizens quickly called for an ambulance and police, attempting to save Mr. Thanarat’s life, but he later died.

Police Colonel Niyom Suaywong, Chief of Khao Yoi Police Station, stated that the police have identified the shooter, a 17-year-old male juvenile. The motive appears to be a prior verbal dispute between the parties, though the exact cause is under further investigation. After the incident, the suspect’s mother contacted authorities to arrange her son's surrender on 30 Jan 2026. The suspect has a record of multiple previous fights in the area. Police continue to exert pressure on the fugitive to apprehend him and proceed with legal action.
