At 11:00 a.m. on 30 January 2026, under the command of Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, Metropolitan Police Bureau Commander, Police Major General Charin Kopattara, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Police Major General Chaikrit Pho-a, Commander of Region 6, Police Colonel Sirichat Chanpromma, Chief of Patumwan Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sakchai Yurak, Deputy Chief of Patrol at Patumwan Police, and Police Lieutenant Niwat Niempraw, Patrol Inspector of Patumwan Police, led patrol officers along with the Emergency Response Team from the Mobile Police Division to carry out duties according to the plan to prevent student fights.
This plan involves patrolling and preventive security measures to deter crime and maintain order in their jurisdiction, focusing on key and high-risk areas such as Charoen Phon Pier, Pathumwan Institute of Technology, and Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, Uthenthawai Campus, as well as surrounding areas, to build public confidence among residents, students, and passersby.
During area inspections, officers found two knives left unattended in a public space without any owner claiming them. The knives were seized as evidence, and the surroundings were thoroughly checked to prevent any harm or repeated incidents. No suspects were found, and no other unusual events were reported.
