On 31 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Suraphol Prembut, Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradetch Thiprak, Police Commander attached to the Office of the Royal Thai Police Chief, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Wiwat Khamchamnarn, Deputy Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sila Kanjanarak, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 5, ordered Pol. Col. Natthapong Trongthieng, Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 5; Pol. Lt. Col. Bancha Thongbaoyai, Deputy Superintendent; and Pol. Lt. Col. Komsan Samorn, Chief Investigator of Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 5,

to lead a force with a search warrant from the Chachoengsao Provincial Court to search an aluminum and glass shop located in Village 14, Nong Nae Subdistrict, Phanom Sarakham District, Chachoengsao. They arrested Mr. Therdsak Thaworncharoen, 38, a local resident and shop owner, seizing three firearms: a 9mm pistol, an 11mm pistol, and a .22 caliber long gun, along with 110 rounds of various ammunition.

This followed an investigation by Division 4 officers who identified a Facebook account whose owner frequently posted images showing firearms, as well as posts seeking to buy, sell, or flaunt guns on his feed and stories. The investigation revealed the owner to be Mr. Therdsak, residing in Chachoengsao. Evidence was compiled and a search warrant obtained, leading to the arrest and seizure of all firearms and ammunition.

During interrogation, Mr. Therdsak claimed all the seized guns were pawned to him. Investigators found no legal ownership documents for any of the firearms. A background check showed he had previously been arrested for illegally selling over 15,000 rounds of military-grade ammunition and was sentenced to three years in prison. After release, he resumed similar illegal activities. He is now in custody pending further legal action.
