The Economic Crime Suppression Division police, together with the Department of Intellectual Property, launched an operation to sweep counterfeit goods across 12 provinces. They arrested 15 suspects and seized over 10,000 items, worth millions, including agricultural equipment, automotive parts, perfumes, clothing, socks, bags, and branded shoes from well-known labels.
On 3 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thatsaphum Charuprat, commander of the ECSD, ordered Pol. Col. Phuwadet Julkasavee, chief of ECSD Division 1, and Pol. Lt. Col. Nopwatt Thareecharanphat, investigator of Division 1, along with officers from the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce, to lead a proactive operation to inspect and suppress the sale of intellectual property-infringing goods in targeted regions nationwide.
This operation covered five northern provinces: Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Nan, Phayao, and Chiang Mai; five eastern provinces: Chonburi, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, Nakhon Nayok, and Trat; as well as two northeastern provinces: Roi Et and Nakhon Ratchasima.
The raids uncovered a wide range of counterfeit and trademark-infringing goods, including agricultural equipment, automotive parts, perfumes, clothing, socks, bags, and branded shoes from famous labels. More than 10,000 items were seized, with estimated damages amounting to millions of baht.
Authorities also arrested 15 suspects, charging them with "joint possession for sale, or having for sale, counterfeit trademarked goods and imitation trademarks of other registered persons within the Kingdom."
This operation is part of proactive measures to prevent and suppress intellectual property violations, aiming to eliminate sources of counterfeit goods spreading across multiple areas. It focused on key watch points such as warehouses, large commercial buildings, major wholesale and retail markets in provinces and districts, and stores selling both in physical shops and online. Officials obtained court search warrants to inspect suspected locations, seize counterfeit goods, and arrest offenders.
Investigations found all seized products to be substandard with forged trademarks. The items were confiscated as evidence, and suspects were detained along with the goods and handed over to ECSD Division 1 for further legal proceedings.
