Social Media Buzz Over New Traffic Police Motorcycle: Honda X-ADV 750, a Rugged Big Scooter

Social media is abuzz about the new traffic police motorcycle, the Honda X-ADV 750, a rugged big scooter replacing old motorcycles that have been in use for over 7 years in traffic duties. This is intended to ensure convenience and safety for the public, prevent traffic violations, and apprehend offenders. Traffic police officers at stations nationwide regularly patrol their assigned areas 24 hours a day on these motorcycles.

On 4 February 2026, reporters noted that various social media platforms circulated stories about the new traffic police motorcycle, the Honda X-ADV 750, a big bike in a Crossover SUV style combining the agility of a scooter with the toughness of an adventure bike.

Initial specifications reveal the Honda X-ADV 2025 is powered by a 745 cc, 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a newly improved automatic DCT gearbox designed for smoother low-speed operation. The braking system includes dual 296 mm disc brakes with 4-piston calipers and ABS to prevent wheel lockup, while the rear brake is a single 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper and ABS.

Following the post's circulation, many people commented on various pages sharing the information. Most critiques focused on the motorcycle's performance; some said it is clearly not a patrol bike but more suited as a lead vehicle, others remarked, “Facing locals in alleys and communities is easy,” and “You can’t keep up with a Wave in Bangkok.”

Reports indicate that previously, the Logistics Division of the Royal Thai Police Headquarters   published a notice for the electronic bidding procurement of 7,865 replacement traffic police motorcycles with equipment. The total budget for the purchase was 886,909,833.33 baht (eight hundred eighty-six million nine hundred nine thousand eight hundred thirty-three baht and thirty-three satang) for one lot.

At certain points, the Terms of Reference (TOR) or the detailed specifications and evaluation criteria for the procurement of 7,865 replacement traffic police motorcycles with equipment stated the background as follows:

The Royal Thai Police has traffic duties to ensure public convenience and safety, prevent traffic violations, and apprehend offenders. Traffic police officers at police stations nationwide regularly patrol their assigned areas 24 hours a day on motorcycles as part of their duties.

A survey of the current traffic police motorcycles under the Royal Thai Police jurisdiction found that 7,865 units have been in use for over 7 years and are in poor, deteriorated condition, lacking sufficient safety for daily patrol duties across respective police station areas, 24 hours a day.

Therefore, the Royal Thai Police must procure new traffic police motorcycles to replace those older than 7 years, aiming to enhance the effectiveness and safety of officers’ duties across its various units.

However, further clarification from the relevant agencies, including the Royal Thai Police, is awaited. Updates will be reported as they become available.
