"Big Joke" has authorized a lawyer to file a defamation suit against former close subordinate Pol.Col. Phakphum for giving three online interviews. The court scheduled a preliminary hearing for 16 Mar 2026 GMT+7.
At the Bangkok South Criminal Court at 10:30 on 5 Feb, Police General Surachate Hakparn, former Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, authorized lawyer Sanyaphat Samart to file a defamation lawsuit against Pol.Col. Phakphum Pismay, former Deputy Commander of the Investigation Division 4 and a former close subordinate, for defamation by publication due to three online interviews.
Lawyer Sanyaphat said that after reviewing the statements made through the media, it was clear that Pol.Col. Phakphum’s words constituted defamation. Police General Surachate found it necessary to present evidence and witnesses to the court so it can determine who is at fault and who is not.
Sanyaphat added that Police General Surachate filed the lawsuit to defend his honor. They are also reviewing others who might have committed defamation through the media. The case was accepted by the Bangkok South Criminal Court as black case number A.107/2569. The court scheduled the preliminary hearing for 16 March 2026 at 13:30 GMT+7.
