An explosion occurred on a secondary road in Kado Village, Rue Sor District, Narathiwat Province. Initially, three local residents sustained minor injuries. Authorities promptly sealed off the scene to prevent further incidents and quickly collect evidence.
At 15:20 on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 GMT+7, investigators at Rue Sor Police Station, Narathiwat Province, received reports of an explosion with injuries in Moo 4, Kado Village, Rue Sor Ok Subdistrict, Rue Sor District. They informed their superiors and coordinated with security personnel and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to investigate.
Preliminary investigation revealed the blast site was on a road within Kado Village. The explosion created a large crater in the middle of the road. An Isuzu silver-bronze pickup truck with license plate กค 8434 Pattani was damaged, with its windshield shattered and the vehicle body showing shrapnel marks.
At the time of the explosion, three villagers were riding in the pickup truck. All three suffered minor injuries from the blast and have since received initial first aid.
After the incident, the village headman of Moo 4, Kado Village, coordinated with security forces—including military, civilian, and police personnel—to control the area and block traffic around the site for the safety of residents and officials, due to concerns about potential secondary explosives.
Regarding the investigation, forensic officers are currently collecting evidence at the scene, including bomb fragments and electronic components, to aid in tracing connections to the perpetrators.
Authorities preliminarily believe the attack was carried out by violent insurgent groups in the area as a tactic to create unrest.
