Mor Pla escorted two female victims to report to 'Big Tao,' alleging a renowned mortician in Ang Thong deceived them into performing a ritual holy water bath to cleanse black magic at a temple before sexually assaulting them, and the victims claim the assault occurred during the ceremony.
At 14:00 on 12 Feb 2025 GMT+7, at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), Mr. Jeerapun Phetkhao, known as Mor Pla, the ghost hunter, brought two female victims to meet Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaroonkiat Pankaew, Deputy Commander of the CIB, to request investigation and prosecution against Uncle Sanom, a famous mortician and black magic remover in Ang Thong province, who allegedly deceived them into performing a misfortune-breaking and black magic cleansing ritual and committed acts of indecency.
Mrs. Ning (alias), 40, one of the victims, revealed that the incident occurred around March 2025. At that time, her husband had been chronically ill for 1-2 years with no improvement despite hospital treatment, causing her stress. She found information about this uncle on social media, learning he was reputedly knowledgeable in rituals involving holy water baths to wash away curses and black magic. He also claimed to have disciples among high-ranking police and military officers. Believing in such matters, she contacted him, with the ritual costing 200 baht per session.
However, upon meeting him, things were not as expected. Upon arrival, the uncle asked her to change into a sarong, then to remove all clothing. He used a knife to draw on her body and shaved her pubic hair. He then inserted a small round amulet called a 'look gara' into her genitalia. Additionally, he touched her genitals while performing the ritual and commented on her body. She admitted feeling shocked but complied out of fear of black magic threats.
After the ritual, several other women posted critical comments on social media about the uncle's behavior, reporting similar experiences. Moreover, her husband's illness did not improve as promised, leading her to believe the entire matter was a scam.
The victim also expressed feeling deeply hurt by the incident and urged the uncle to stop such behavior. Given his advanced age and that he conducted rituals at a temple, she does not want others to suffer similarly. She also mentioned that previously a woman refused to undergo the ritual but was forced to complete it.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaroonkiat stated that from victim testimonies, approximately 9-10 women have reported similar treatment and are encouraged to come forward with information. The crimes are categorized into two types: acts of indecency and fraud. After learning of the case, he ordered investigators from Division 2, the Crime Suppression Division, to verify both matters simultaneously. Whether conducting rituals at temple premises constitutes an offense is also under review.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaroonkiat added that the accused is elderly and allegedly impersonates high-ranking police and military officers. The truth of these claims is under investigation. This case is a social menace unrelated to religion but involves an individual fabricating identity based on performing rituals over a deceased pregnant woman. Media exposure has led the public to believe in him, and vulnerable people sought his help. However, the results were ineffective, with victims losing money either as fees or donations.
"We sympathize with the victims, some of whom suffer from depression. We will expedite fact-finding. Anyone previously assaulted is encouraged to come forward; authorities will facilitate their cooperation. Rest assured the Central Investigation Bureau will conduct a professional inquiry," the deputy CIB chief concluded.
Mr. Jeerapun, or Mor Pla, said upon learning that his name was being falsely used on social media, he was angry because he neither knows nor has visited the accused. Many have been deceived by impersonators claiming his identity. After gathering information, he decided to contact 'Big Tao' to bring victims forward. They were relieved, fearing they would not receive justice due to lack of evidence, as the accused required victims to enter alone without cameras for proof.
Mor Pla affirmed that black magic does not exist. He believes the uncle has operated this scheme for decades and suspects many more victims exist. Confident that with 'Big Tao' involved, the Central Investigation Bureau will successfully prosecute the uncle.
