Police raided and arrested two Chinese siblings renting a luxury house in Chonburi Province after residents reported chemical discharge into a stream. Authorities found setups producing precursors for "Happy Water" and "Pot-Ke" vaping liquids. The suspects claimed to be only house guards.
On 14 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reports indicated that police from Bang Lamung Police Station and Nong Pla Lai Municipality requested to inspect a luxury house suspected of discharging chemicals into a stream. During the inspection, two Chinese men attempted to flee but were both apprehended. One tried to escape by climbing the wall but fell and fractured his leg. Inside the house, three chemical production setups were found along with a large quantity of chemicals. The house had only been rented to foreigners for two months at 150,000 baht per month.
At 19:00 (13 Feb 2026 GMT+7), Mr. Suradech Latesun, Director of Law Enforcement, Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 2, forensic police from Chonburi Forensic Unit 2, immigration police of Chonburi, and tourism police arrived to assist Bang Lamung Police in identifying the chemical production setups and chemicals found inside the house to determine the types of precursors involved.
Officials from the Narcotics Control Board tested six types of chemicals found in the house using reagents and drug test strips. The tests revealed the presence of three narcotics: 1. Methamphetamine, 2. Ketamine, and 3. Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy).
Authorities suspect the chemical production setups found in the house were for precursors used in ketamine liquids for electronic cigarette pods, known as "Pot-Ke," and "Happy Water" drugs, both currently widespread among wealthy Chinese communities. However, the chemicals will undergo further detailed examination to confirm their exact role in drug production.
Additionally, three containers of finished chemical products were seized, each in 30-liter plastic drums. The exact chemical nature of these substances has not yet been identified.
Bang Lamung Police are preparing to charge Mr. Xu Yunlong, 42, and Mr. Xu Tianking, 32, two Chinese brothers found inside the house, with illegal production and possession of Category 1 controlled substances (methamphetamine) and Category 2 controlled substances (ketamine) without authorization.
The two Chinese suspects maintained that they were only house guards and had lived in the house for only a few days. They claimed that an elderly man of unknown nationality came to mix the chemicals, and communication was conducted solely via a translation app.
Subsequently, Mr. Xu Yunlong received medical treatment at Pattaya Patumkan Hospital. Initial X-rays confirmed only a fractured bone, and doctors permitted him to return home. Police then brought him back to the crime scene for further questioning.
Bang Lamung Police and Chonburi Forensic Unit 2 jointly recorded the seizure and collected all evidence for forensic analysis to confirm the chemical substances involved. The two Chinese men, Mr. Xu Yunlong and Mr. Xu Tianking, were also questioned.
They were initially taken to identify various points inside the house to support the case file. Subsequently, they will be interrogated further to expand the investigation regarding the origin of the chemicals, the destinations of any finished products, and to track down any accomplices.
Later, immigration police of Chonburi, accompanied by a Chinese interpreter, further interrogated the two Chinese men. Preliminary checks revealed that Mr. Xu Yunlong, 42, entered Thailand on 11 Feb 2026 GMT+7, and Mr. Xu Tianking, 32, entered on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, both on tourist visas. They reaffirmed that they were merely caretakers of the house and its contents, receiving a monthly salary of 40,000 baht.
