Police Chief of Division 2 orders immediate suspension of Police Lieutenant Colonel 'Khak' and sets up a serious disciplinary committee following the cannabis shop robbery case involving 800,000 baht and 100 kilograms of cannabis.

On 14 February 2026, Police Major General Kiattikul Sontinern, Chief of Division 2, said that a police lieutenant colonel attached to Division 2, along with associates, committed a robbery at a cannabis shop in Pathum Thani Province. He signed an order suspending Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongphop Kaewkhun, known as 'Khak,' 47, Deputy Inspector of the Investigation Unit at Sutthisan Police Station, currently on temporary assignment as Deputy Inspector at Division 2, Metropolitan Police Bureau, pending a serious disciplinary investigation.

Reviewing records shows that Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongphop had previously faced two disciplinary investigations, including one for extortion. Division 2 ordered his transfer out of the local area to serve temporarily at Division 2 headquarters. Regarding the cannabis shop robbery in Pathum Thani Province, it was found that Pongphop took a three-day leave before committing the crime.
