An investigative team met to pursue the suspect who robbed 26 baht of gold valued at 1.9 million baht from a gold shop in Khon Kaen. At 13:00 on 17 Feb 2026, Pol Maj Gen Anuwat Suwanphum, Commander of Khon Kaen Provincial Police, updated on the case of a lone suspect who raided a gold shop in Ban Thum Subdistrict, Mueang Khon Kaen District. The suspect escaped with 26 baht of gold necklaces worth over 1.9 million baht at 14:07 on 15 Feb 2026. Earlier that morning, Pol Col Preecha Kengsarikij, Deputy Commander of Khon Kaen Provincial Police, convened an investigation team including detectives from Region 4 Police, Khon Kaen Provincial Police, and Ban Fang Police Station. They also mobilized detectives from three neighboring police stations—Phra Yuen, Tha Phra, and Ban Fang—to comb the area in a manhunt. The suspect was last seen heading toward Ban Lao Phon Thong, Ban Wa Subdistrict, Mueang Khon Kaen District, a location accessible from three districts, prompting a large-scale police deployment for pursuit.

Following the meeting, Region 4 Police announced a 100,000 baht reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect involved in the gold shop robbery.
