On 18 Feb 2026, reporters followed up on the progress of the robbery at a gold shop inside a gold store in Moo 12, Ban Thum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province. The incident occurred in the afternoon of 15 Feb when the suspect stole gold necklaces totaling 26 baht in weight, valued at nearly 2 million baht, and fled without being caught.
Recently, at the meeting room of Ban Ped Police Station in Khon Kaen, Pol. Maj. Gen. Phumipat Phatrasriwongchai, Commander of Region 4 Police Investigation, called a meeting of the investigative team to solve the gold shop robbery case on the third day after the suspect fled.
The Region 4 Police Investigation Commander said there has been significant progress in the case but details cannot yet be disclosed to the media. The investigation has not ruled out any leads but is focusing on individuals who use rubber gloves, including construction workers or rubber plantation workers who commonly wear such gloves.
At the same time, authorities are tracking down metal shops that buy scrap metal left by the suspect at the scene, as the metal was cut into segments with serial codes that can be traced back to the factory of origin and destination. Investigators have also deployed teams to check with local and nearby craftsmen to see if anyone was hired to do such work.
The public is urged to provide any information to police at any time. Region 4 Police have offered a reward of 100,000 baht for tips leading to the arrest of the suspect. Informants' identities will be kept confidential.
