"Central Administrative Court" Dismisses case on NBTC's decision not to appoint "Trairat" to serve as NBTC Secretary-General, citing disagreement with the selection process as a lawful action.
On 18 Feb 2026 GMT+7, the Central Administrative Court ruled to dismiss the case filed by Mr. Trairat Wiriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). He had sued Dr. Soran Boonbaichaiyapruk, Chairman of the NBTC, and the NBTC itself, alleging that in the NBTC meeting No. 5/2023 on 7 Mar 2023, they unlawfully resolved not to approve his appointment as NBTC Secretary-General.
The court reasoned that the NBTC majority voted against appointing the individual as Secretary-General, as proposed by the NBTC Chairman, due to disagreement with the selection process. This decision was deemed reasonable and sufficiently justified. The court found no grounds to consider the NBTC's resolution and the Chairman's order rejecting Mr. Trairat's appointment unlawful or an infringement against him, thus dismissing the case.
