
The Lawyers Council organized a merit-making ceremony and Buddhist chanting to mark Lawyers' Day 2026, along with a seminar titled "Lawyer Etiquette and the Profession in the Digital Transformation Era: How to Adapt Without Violating Regulations."
At 10:00 a.m. on 20 February 2026, on the 5th floor meeting room of the Lawyers Council under Royal Patronage, the Council held a merit-making and Buddhist chanting ceremony for Lawyers' Day 2026 to bring auspiciousness and dedicate merit to deceased lawyers. The ceremony was led by Phra Thepwachirawitthayanusit (Luang Por Wora Punyavaro), abbot of Wat Pho Thong, as the Buddhist leader, and Dr. Thanapon Kongchiang, President of the Lawyers Council, as the ceremony chair. They were joined by the Council's executives, the Ethics Committee, and lawyer members.
At the same event, plaques were presented to 42 outstanding lawyers of 2026 to honor those who have selflessly dedicated themselves to society and the public. Awards were also given to winners of the Lawyer Ted Talk competition on the topic "The Role of Thai Lawyers on the International Legal Stage." This served to promote the capabilities of Thai lawyers at the international level.
Additionally, the Lawyers Council held an academic seminar titled "Lawyer Etiquette and the Profession in the Digital Transformation Era: How to Adapt Without Violating Regulations," featuring Mr. Kanit Walyapetch, Chairman of the Ethics Committee; Dr. Chaichip Chalopatham, Vice President for Special Affairs; and Dr. Peeraphat Foithong, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The seminar aimed to educate lawyer members on using technology and social media in accordance with professional regulations and ethics in the current era. This event not only commemorated the significance of the legal profession but also demonstrated the organization's readiness to develop personnel to keep pace with global changes, thus effectively delivering justice to the public.
