Nonthaburi is in turmoil as an aggressive young man pulled a gun from his side bag to threaten, slapped and kicked a 60-year-old ice shop owner, forcing her to kneel. He boasted about being a local politician’s aide and knowing many powerful figures. Bang Bua Thong police have acknowledged the case and are currently pursuing the suspect.
At 13:00 on 20 February 2026, Ms. Duangdao Jitsano, 60, owner of an ice shop, accompanied by her 29-year-old daughter Kritiyanai Santawa, reported to Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Pholchue, an investigator at Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Nonthaburi. They reported that Mr. Theparit Uskul, also known as Thep, aged approximately 40-45, rode a Honda motorcycle with unknown license plate to their shop, then pulled a firearm of unknown caliber from his side bag and brandished it. He then rushed forward and assaulted Ms. Duangdao by slapping her face three times and kicking her abdomen once before fleeing on his motorcycle. The incident occurred around 06:00 that morning in front of an ice shop located in Village 5, Bang Khu Rat Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi.
CCTV footage captured the suspect, Mr. Thep, wearing a green T-shirt sitting on his motorcycle, while Ms. Duangdao stood in front of the shop. Two of Ms. Duangdao’s employees were also nearby working. Mr. Thep pulled the gun from his side bag to show he was armed, then approached and slapped Ms. Duangdao’s face three times and kicked her abdomen once before fleeing on his motorcycle.
The scene is a single-story townhouse operating as a wholesale ice shop selling Uniq ice and ice blocks. Ms. Duangdao pointed to where she was assaulted and explained that earlier that morning, her employee had gone to pick up ice for the shop. Another employee was preparing to deliver ice to a customer at a market within the village when they heard someone asking to buy ice at the front of the shop. Since the employees could not speak Thai well, Ms. Duangdao went to inquire.
The man shouted angrily at the employee, saying, “I’ve told you many times to drive carefully.” Ms. Duangdao replied she would inform the shop owner and asked him to calm down, telling him he could talk to her and requesting his phone number so the owner could call to resolve the matter. He responded, “The boss’s number? Then give it here.” She replied, “I will arrange that.” Then he said to the employee, “I’m done playing with you,” before turning to Ms. Duangdao and saying, “Then I’ll play with you first.” He then pulled a gun from his bag and slapped her face three times and kicked her once, also forcing her to kneel.
Ms. Duangdao said she tried to calm him down, but he continued his aggression, claiming to be a local politician’s aide and knowing many influential figures. He then left on his motorcycle as if nothing happened. About two hours later, he returned on his motorcycle, causing a scene again before disappearing.
She said she felt very frightened and shocked by the incident, especially since he pulled a gun to show he was armed and targeted her employees continuously. The suspect appeared intoxicated but did not realize she was the shop owner. She had her employees hide behind because she is an older woman and did not expect such bold behavior. Before coming to her shop, he had already caused disturbances by throwing objects and firing a gun at other shops. This conduct poses a serious threat to the community. She urged police and relevant authorities to apprehend him and proceed with legal action.
Initially, Police Colonel Thatsakorn Gonthong, Chief of Bang Bua Thong Police Station, ordered Police Lieutenant Colonel Sirodom Sripanya, head of the investigation unit, to lead officers in reviewing CCTV footage at the scene and tracing the suspect’s escape route. The suspect is known and police are currently pursuing his arrest. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Bang Bua Thong Police Station, available 24 hours.
