Police Search Suspected House in Arson of Siberian Husky Nong Molly Reward Now 87,000 Baht

The Region 9 Police Chief led officers from five units to hunt for the suspect who poured oil and set fire to “Nong Molly.” They searched a suspected house, collected evidence including oil stains and a fuel canister, and the reward for information has now risen to 87,000 baht.

Following the heartbreaking incident that saddened animal lovers, “Molly” a two-year-old female Siberian Husky who was doused with oil and set on fire by an unknown perpetrator, suffered severe injuries and recently passed away peacefully. The owner and online followers mourned deeply. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Mueang Songkhla Police Station, as previously reported.

The latest update on the afternoon of 21 Feb 2026: Police led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat Chalermsri, Commander of Region 9 Police, Pol. Maj. Gen. Theerasak Chaiyotha, Commander of Songkhla Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Pongsawat Itsorn, Chief of the Songkhla Provincial Police Investigation Division, and Pol. Col. Keerati Triwai, Chief of Mueang Songkhla Police Station, along with officers from five units—including Songkhla Provincial Police investigation, Region 9 investigation, Mueang Songkhla Police investigation, Forensic Center 9, and the Crime Suppression Division—executed a search warrant at a house in Village No. 8, Phawong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Songkhla Province. This house was a suspect location to collect evidence.




At the house, police found oil stains on the ground in front of the house and a fuel canister inside the property. Inside the house, there was a strong smell of oil. Forensic Center 9 collected all evidence and also took DNA samples from the homeowner, awaiting results to determine any connection to the arson of Molly.




Currently, investigators have interviewed more than 10 local residents, but so far no one has confessed to setting fire to Molly.




Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat Chalermsri, Region 9 Police Chief, said he has ordered and emphasized that all police units thoroughly and carefully collect evidence to confirm the identity of the arsonist.
