
Police launched a dawn operation to surround and arrest 79 street racers, seizing 58 vehicles in front of a well-known housing estate after receiving complaints of public disturbance and nuisance.
At 00:05 on 22 Feb 2026, Pol. Col. Adirek Pothipan, Chief of Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Natthawut Thakoorchaikorn, Deputy Chief of Crime Suppression, Pol. Lt. Col. Pirat Sajja, Deputy Chief of Investigation, and traffic patrol units conducted a raid to inspect groups of motorcycles gathered in front of Siwali Housing Estate, Prachathipat Subdistrict, Thanyaburi District, Pathum Thani Province. They arrested 79 suspects and seized 57 motorcycles and 1 pickup truck.
Pol. Col. Adirek Pothipan said the operation was prompted by complaints about problems related to illegal street racing and unsafe driving, as well as gatherings likely leading to street racing, causing disturbance and nuisance to nearby residents.
He added that Pol. Maj. Gen. Peeraphol Chotiksethien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and Pol. Col. Wisnurak Phrommet, Deputy Commander, ordered Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police to act swiftly. Upon learning of a gathering today, they deployed forces to conduct a raid on the street racers in front of Siwali Housing Estate.
The operation resulted in the arrest of 79 suspects, including 35 adults and 44 juveniles. Authorities seized 57 motorcycles and 1 pickup truck as evidence. All suspects and seized vehicles were handed over to investigators to proceed with legal action on charges of attempted street racing.
Pol. Col. Adirek concluded that the police invited all juvenile suspects' guardians to collect their children and issued warnings. The juveniles will be brought to court on Monday. He also warned that if any children are arrested again, legal action will be taken against their guardians as well.
Regarding the motorcycles, police will keep all as evidence. Previously, courts have ordered the seizure of such vehicles. However, if a vehicle is not owned by the accused, the owner may appeal to reclaim it.
