Pu Mantana Testifies in Defamation Case Filed by Noom Kanchai Lawyer Reveals 64 Charges Accumulated

Pu Mantana appeared in court to give testimony in the defamation case filed by Noom Kanchai. The lawyer revealed that the charges have accumulated to 64 counts and stressed that no damages are being sought, only criminal punishment.

On 23 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Criminal Court, a testimony hearing was scheduled in the case where Mr. Kanchai Kamnerdploy filed a lawsuit against Ms. Mantana Himathongkham for defamation by advertising.

Today, Mr. Pornsak Vipasapanan, the lawyer authorized by Noom Kanchai, attended court and revealed that he came as scheduled following the defamation lawsuit against Pu Mantana by advertising. The court set a date to examine evidence. There are two cases today: one case has been accepted by the court, and the other is scheduled for a hearing. Both cases involve defamation by advertising but are separate charges due to different dates and times. He confirmed that Noom Kanchai is not demanding damages but only wants criminal penalties. Today’s hearing involves 22 counts, and combined with previous cases, Pu Mantana faces a total of 64 counts because Noom Kanchai said, “If the postings don’t stop, I will keep filing lawsuits.”

Mr. Pornsak also said he has filed objections to bail in all cases filed, but it is up to the court's discretion to decide. Previously, when she pleaded not guilty, the court accepted that the case had merit, but it is believed she will continue to deny because no names were mentioned explicitly, though there is a connection. She did not deny the content outright because her messages were clear.

“Whether she feels at ease today or not depends on her status as the defendant. Everything she has done and continues to do comes with a price for every post. If she wants to confront openly, let her do so. But I have good defenses, and everything is risky. The prison is ready to welcome those who do not take responsibility for their actions,” said Mr. Pornsak.
