Police Investigate Childs Body and Evidence in Saraburi Head Shows Signs of Blunt Force Trauma

Police have begun investigating the body of a young girl abandoned by the irrigation canal in Saraburi. Her head shows marks resembling injuries caused by a blunt object, though it has not been confirmed if this was the cause of death. The missing arm displays signs of animal bites.

On the afternoon of 23 Feb, villagers found the body of a girl aged around 3-5 years abandoned in a forested area along the canal road between Chainat and Pasak, Village No. 2, Ban Klap Subdistrict, Nong Don District, Saraburi Province. She was found face down in a decomposed state with maggots on her body. The right arm was missing. She wore long jeans, a pink jacket, a diaper, and blue socks. Nearby, a white towel was found. It is estimated she had been dead for at least five days.

Later, preliminary autopsy results from the Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani Province indicated the female child had been deceased for about one month, as previously reported.

The latest update: at 14:00 on 24 Feb 2026, Police Colonel Somkid Sawisai, Deputy Commander of Saraburi Provincial Police, held a meeting with investigation teams from Region 1, Saraburi Provincial Police, and Nong Don Police Station to resolve the case of the young girl's body found abandoned by the irrigation canal road in Nong Don District, Saraburi.

Col. Somkid revealed that current leads require starting over, as the medical examiner found the child had been dead for at least one month. Consequently, all previous leads gathered from social media have been discarded. Moving forward, police will seek clues from the body and evidence at the scene, such as clothing, bedding found there, and the cause of the head wound, which shows signs of blunt force trauma causing a skull fracture. Authorities have not yet confirmed if this was the cause of death.

Regarding the missing right arm, officials said it may have been bitten off by animals in the area, as bite marks suggest animal claws tore the arm away, causing it to be lost.

Nevertheless, authorities will continue to gather evidence from the crime scene combined with other forensic findings to identify the girl, determine who killed her, the motive, and why the body was abandoned at that location.
