
Phetkasem Police arrested a woman involved in a gang scamming buyers of art toys, where she acted as a hired money transfer agent earning 500 baht per transaction. Background checks revealed she also defrauded people by selling concert tickets.
At 12:00 on 25 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Col. Pramote Janboonkaew, Chief of Phetkasem Police Station, Pol. Lt. Thawatchai Thipwong, Investigation Division Chief, and Pol. Sgt. Maj. Aekyut Plongkong led officers to arrest Ms. Pornprapa Buayai, 22, on charges of conspiracy to defraud and computer crime under Thonburi Criminal Court warrant no. 1068/2568 dated 11 Nov 2025 GMT+7. The arrest took place in Khao Kho Subdistrict, Khao Kho District, Phetchabun Province.
On 26 Aug 2024 GMT+7, a victim saw a Facebook user named Ploy Ploy posting dolls (Powerpuff Girls) for sale. The victim contacted Ploy Ploy and agreed to buy five dolls totaling 16,500 baht, then transferred the money to the provided bank account.
After transferring 16,500 baht, the victim contacted the Facebook user again via the original chat and sent the payment slip. The user then blocked all contact, making further communication impossible. Realizing they had been scammed, the victim promptly saved screenshots of all chat messages as evidence and reported the incident to Phetkasem Police for legal action.
During questioning, Ms. Pornprapa Buayai confessed she was paid 500 baht per money transfer, hired via Facebook to receive funds and forward them. Officials found four similar scam cases reported via hotline 1441, occurring in Samut Sakhon, Khlong Luang, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya police areas. The scams involved tricking people interested in art toys.
Checks revealed Ms. Pornprapa had a history of selling fraudulent Palmmy concert tickets in Samut Sakhon Province and had two prior gambling-related cases under the gambling law.
The suspect was handed over to investigators at Phetkasem Police Station to proceed with legal action.
