Deputy Superintendent Strikes Womans Head with Beer Bottle at Barbecue Restaurant, Causing Bleeding Injury

A woman filed a complaint accusing a police officer of Deputy Superintendent rank of hitting her head with a beer bottle, causing bleeding, following a dispute with the officer's wife at a barbecue restaurant. CCTV footage recorded the incident.

A reporter reported that on the morning of 25 Feb 2026, Ms. Supattra (surname withheld), 32, filed a complaint with Lieutenant Colonel Phaiwan Phumimanaw, the investigating officer at Nong Bua Daeng Police Station, Chaiyaphum Province, stating she was assaulted by a police officer holding the rank of Deputy Superintendent at a police station. The incident occurred on the evening of 24 Feb 2026 at 8 p.m. inside a barbecue restaurant at the Nong Bua Daeng municipal market.

Ms. Supattra, the injured party, recounted that on the night of the incident, she and her female friends from the same village were eating barbecue at the restaurant when a couple and another female friend entered. It was later learned that the male was a police officer holding the rank of Deputy Superintendent stationed in Nakhon Phanom Province. They ordered barbecue meat along with liquor and beer to drink.

Subsequently, the Deputy Superintendent reportedly looked repeatedly toward Ms. Supattra's table, which upset his wife. The wife then threw a beer bottle toward Ms. Supattra's table, and Ms. Supattra threw one back, leading to a scuffle. During the altercation, the Deputy Superintendent intervened and struck Ms. Supattra's head with a beer bottle, causing a deep wound and profuse bleeding.

The restaurant owner then intervened to separate the two parties. The Deputy Superintendent and his wife left the restaurant as if nothing had happened, while Ms. Supattra and her friends went to Nong Bua Daeng Hospital for treatment and subsequently filed a police report to press charges against the Deputy Superintendent.

After receiving the complaint, police arranged for Ms. Supattra to undergo a medical examination again at Nong Bua Daeng Hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Phaiwan Phumimanaw, the investigating officer at Nong Bua Daeng Police Station, stated that the victim's testimony has been recorded. A summons will be issued for the accused Deputy Superintendent to attend questioning. Police will review the CCTV footage, verify case details, and interview witnesses to proceed with legal action against the offender.
