Ms. Supattra Wongsang, 32, filed a complaint with Lt. Payawan Phumimanaw, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Nong Bua Daeng Police Station, stating that a police officer holding the rank of Police Lieutenant Colonel and serving as deputy superintendent assaulted her by hitting her head with a beer bottle inside a restaurant. The incident arose from an altercation involving the deputy superintendent’s wife, as previously reported.
On 27 Feb 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Wutthichai Chanthopas, Chief of Roi Et Provincial Police, stated that following the circulation of video clips and social media reports concerning a deputy superintendent from Roi Et Provincial Police involved in a brawl inside a restaurant in Nong Bua Daeng District, Chaiyaphum Province, on 24 Feb 2026 at approximately 22:10, Roi Et Provincial Police would like to clarify the facts for the public to receive accurate information as follows.
1. According to the report from Nong Bua Daeng Police Station, Chaiyaphum Province, the local authority where the incident occurred, police received notification of a fight inside a restaurant with injuries. Officers promptly investigated the scene and advised the parties involved to file complaints with investigators.
2. The investigators at Nong Bua Daeng Police Station have formally charged the police officer involved with jointly assaulting another person, causing bodily and psychological harm. The accused denies all charges. The case is currently under legal investigation.
3. Chaiyaphum Provincial Police have reported the criminal case involving the police officer to his home agency. Roi Et Provincial Police clarify that criminal proceedings fall under the jurisdiction of investigators in the incident’s locality. The process is conducted fairly without discrimination, regardless of the accused’s rank, position, or status.
Regarding disciplinary matters, Roi Et Provincial Police have concurrently established a fact-finding committee to determine whether the officer’s conduct violates police regulations or disciplinary codes.
