Poo Mantana Acknowledges Defamation Charges by Noom Kanchai, Laments Being Bullied

Poo Mantana traveled to acknowledge defamation charges filed by Noom Kanchai. She believes she will win all cases, lamenting that she is being bullied and insisting she was not the instigator. She declared she has maintained a spotless reputation throughout her entertainment career.

At 1:00 p.m. on 28 Feb 2026 GMT+7 at Tha Kham Police Station, Ms. Mantana Himathongkham, known as Poo Mantana, an actress, accompanied by lawyer Mr. Mana Wandi, met with Sub-Lieutenant Ratthipok Kaenpitak, deputy investigator at Tha Kham Police Station. She was informed of charges for "defamation by advertising". The case involves Noom Kanchai Kamnerdploy, a news anchor and well-known actor, who assigned lawyer Pornsak Wipas-aparnon, known as lawyer Tuy, to file the complaint after Ms. Mantana posted on Facebook calling Noom Kanchai a "media mafia" and making references to his family. The complaint was filed in July 2025 GMT+7.

Mr. Mana stated that today he brought his client to give statements and acknowledge the charges of defamation by advertising, involving 12 defamatory statements. The investigator will schedule further questioning to determine if the complainant has filed duplicate complaints. Preliminary findings show some statements overlap with cases already filed in court. This matter can be settled through mediation and reconciliation.

Regarding bail, it can be granted at the court stage. The complainant has filed a total of 22 counts across three police stations, including Hua Mak, Phahonyothin, and Tha Kham, excluding the court case. The investigator has not yet considered bail, but reconciliation is possible. Bail decisions depend on the court’s discretion because the penalty can be up to three years in prison.

Ms. Mantana revealed she is not worried about the legal proceedings, believing the actions are a form of harassment through repeated lawsuits. She is confident in her evidence and insists she was not the instigator, having an unblemished record in the entertainment industry. Therefore, she has filed countercharges against the complainant for defamation by advertising in both criminal and civil cases and trusts the court’s justice system.

She has filed complaints against Noom Kanchai and lawyer Kaew Honkrasem at Thonglor Police Station for defamation by advertising and computer crimes, pursuing both criminal and civil cases. Lawyer Tuy and Noom Kanchai claim to have evidence, but she does as well. She questions whether they misunderstood her remarks, noting that during court proceedings she asked, "Do you have a mistress?" to which lawyer Tuy denied on Noom Kanchai’s behalf. Previously, lawyer Tuy shouted insults at her and filed a motion to the court, which was rejected. Now, as lawyer Tuy has sued her, she plans to countersue. She believes lawyer Tuy is trying to please Noom Kanchai and become his adversary. She expressed exhaustion from the ongoing legal battles, court appearances, and statements, emphasizing that she has never met her accusers but is always ready to face them.

She also challenged them to "come to court," saying there are many issues to discuss because their actions have damaged her image, even though the court has not yet ruled on her guilt or innocence. Although she lost at the initial court due to insufficient evidence, their actions have caused significant losses including acting roles, endorsement deals, income, business opportunities, and delayed bank loans. She admitted this has also affected family relationships, as many relatives have various businesses.

Noom Kanchai authorized lawyer Tuy to file five defamation by advertising cases against Poo Mantana: three at Ratchada Criminal Court, one at Tha Kham Police Station, and one at Bangkok South Criminal Court. The courts have accepted all 22 counts from these five cases.
