Nonthaburi – Region 1 police raided and arrested 14 Chinese nationals from a call center gang who fled Cambodia through natural border crossings and were hiding in a hotel in the Ngamwongwan area, preparing to flee to a third country.
At 13:30 on 2 March 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Worachat Saenkham, Commander of Region 1 Investigation Division, Pol. Col. Poonsuk Techapradserthorn, Chief of Investigation Division 1, Region 1, along with police from Region 1 Investigation Division coordinated with Pol. Col. Phatthongthiw Damapong, Chief of Immigration Police in Nonthaburi, Pol. Col. Suriya Puangsombat, Chief of Investigation Division, Immigration Bureau 3, and Pol. Lt. Col. Sukrit Meebamrung, Deputy Chief of Immigration Police in Nonthaburi, to arrest 14 Chinese men along with 52 mobile phones and SIM cards at a hotel located in Soi Ngamwongwan 19, Bangkhen Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. The suspects were then taken for interrogation at the Nonthaburi Immigration Office.
This arrest followed police intelligence that several Chinese individuals had rented rooms at the hotel. Upon investigation, police found 14 Chinese men occupying seven rooms on the fourth floor since the night of 1 March 2026.
Through an interpreter, the suspects revealed they had hired three cars via a ride-hailing app to bring them to the hotel, where they rented seven rooms before the police raid.
After interrogation, the suspects were charged with entering and residing in the kingdom without permission and were handed over to the Rattanathibet Police Station in Nonthaburi Province for prosecution.
Reports indicate that following fighting along the Thai-Cambodian border, the Chinese call center gang residing in Cambodia fled by entering Thailand through natural border crossings, intending to travel onward to a third country.
