
The Sangkhlaburi police chief led a raid to arrest members of the "Jin Tao" scammer call center gang. Their main base in Cambodia was dismantled, forcing them to flee to Myawaddy, Myanmar. They were found with "date rape" drugs worth over 3 million baht, as well as precursors for methamphetamine, ecstasy, morphine, ketamine, and cocaine.

ordered police officers under their command to strictly crack down on the "Jin Tao" scammer call center gang, who are believed to have relocated their base from Cambodia and clandestinely entered Thailand through the western border at the Three Pagodas Pass in Sangkhlaburi District.

Later on 5 Mar 2026, Pol. Col. Santi Phitaksakun, Chief of Sangkhlaburi Police Station, Pol. Col. Korn Somkhaney, Chief of Immigration Police in Kanchanaburi, Lt. Col. Piyanet Phatrasasawatwong, Deputy Commander of Lat Ya Task Force, Border Patrol Police 134, Sangkhlaburi civil administration officials received a tip from an informant that the "Jin Tao" call center gang was using routes between Kanchanaburi and Three Pagodas Pass to evade arrest by authorities.
Authorities planned an immediate arrest at a gas station in Sangkhlaburi District where they found a black Toyota car matching the informant’s description. The driver was identified as Mr. Pittinan (alias), age 70. Inside the car were two Chinese men identified as Mr. Li E-Tun (alias), age 30, and Mr. Ma Se-Miao (alias), age 27.
Officials requested to see their passports but found no travel documents. Suspicious of their behavior, they conducted a thorough search of the vehicle. Inside a suitcase, they found 209 gold bottles with English lettering wrapped in black plastic, three bags of purple powder weighing 1,380 grams, one bag of orange powder weighing 333.41 grams, and 64 blue sachets of "date rape" drugs. Scientific analysis confirmed the substances included precursors for methamphetamine, ecstasy, morphine, ketamine, and cocaine. The suspects were then arrested.
Initial interrogation revealed that driver Mr. Pittinan was hired for 3,000 baht to pick up the two Chinese men from Thong Pha Phum District and bring them to Sangkhlaburi District. Upon arrival, they called a Myanmar broker to pick up the two Chinese men for transport to Myawaddy, Myanmar, but were apprehended by authorities beforehand.
Authorities initially charged the suspects with possession of Category 1 and Category 2 narcotics, illegal possession by foreigners in Thailand without permission, and will proceed with legal action accordingly.
