Two police officers from the Loei Provincial Police Division were praised after encountering a motorcycle accident where the rider’s heart had stopped. They quickly decided to perform CPR until vital signs returned. They disclosed they had received training from a police project in basic first aid and expressed pride in what they accomplished.
At 09:30 on 5 March 2026, Sgt. Sitthichok Mita, patrol squad leader at Nadindam Police Station, Loei Province, and Sgt. Thanatchai Sijiwangsa, patrol squad leader (administrative) at Ban Ped Police Station, on assignment at Nadindam Police Station, were patrolling when they arrived near the foreigner village on Ban Nong Pham–Ban Phan Noi Road, Nadindam Subdistrict, Mueang Loei District. They found a man about 30 years old riding a grey Honda Wave motorcycle, license plate 1 กน. 7056 Loei, who had fainted and crashed into a gate, losing consciousness. They stopped to help and discovered his pulse had stopped, so they immediately performed CPR until he revived. They then contacted Loei Hospital’s rescue team to transport him for treatment.
Sgt. Thanatchai Sijiwangsa and Sgt. Sitthichok Mita said that during their morning patrol they found a man who had crashed his motorcycle into a house wall. When they helped him, they found his pulse had stopped and decided to perform CPR. They noted that without CPR, the injured man might have died.
They had received training from a police project in basic first aid. After assessing the victim’s condition, they decided in that critical moment to act quickly, performing CPR for 5-6 minutes until he regained consciousness and breathing. Although still in critical condition, they promptly coordinated with the rescue team to take him to the hospital for treatment.
The two officers further expressed pride in their actions and saving a life but said they hope no one has to experience an accident because human life is very precious.
