At 16:30 on 5 Mar 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that Pol Maj Gen Kiattikul Sonthienorn, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, disclosed that the case is still awaiting forensic and DNA comparison results to confirm if the deceased is the same individual. Therefore, authorities cannot yet file a warrant to arrest the suspect who ordered the killing, as such an arrest requires clear evidence without doubt. The court must be convinced that the accused is involved in the crime. Charges of premeditated murder have not yet been brought against the seven suspects involved.
Additionally, police have interrogated a private investigator from a private company who secretly installed a GPS tracker on Mr. Ruth's car. The investigator revealed he was hired by a woman closely connected to the person who ordered the surveillance to monitor Mr. Ruth's movements for over a week. The investigator obtained the vehicle information from the hiring woman and contacted a Cyber Police Sergeant from the Cyber Crime Division to verify the vehicle's owner before installing the GPS tracker.
Pol Maj Gen Kiattikul added that the Cyber Police Sergeant has been summoned for questioning. If it is found that the actions were taken without proper authority, it constitutes a legal offense. The Sutthisan Police investigative officers are preparing to take disciplinary and criminal action under Section 157 for official misconduct against the Cyber Police Sergeant after accepting the job to check the young manager's vehicle registration, which led to the victim's abduction.
Moreover, it was reported that Pol Lt Gen Siam Boonsom, Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, immediately informed Pol Gen Kittirat Phanphet, Royal Thai Police Chief, upon learning that a police officer was involved in checking the vehicle registration to identify ownership. The Police Chief ordered prompt disciplinary and criminal proceedings against the officer involved.
Regarding efforts to apprehend Mr. Art, a police superintendent-level investigation officer is leading a team to pursue him in Laos, coordinating with local police. Authorities are determined to arrest him to prevent any attempts to kill him and stop information from reaching the person who ordered the crime.
Most recently, at 19:00, DNA test results for the burned corpse found in Lopburi Province were compared with DNA from Mr. Ruth's mother, confirming the body is Mr. Ruth. With this confirmation, authorities will add charges of premeditated murder against the five suspects involved in the kidnapping gang currently detained in Bangkok Remand Prison. The two other suspects, who were released on bail by the Ratchada Criminal Court, will also be pursued and charged similarly.
