The Royal Thai Police confirm their readiness to provide security for individuals, embassies, consulates, and airports 24 hours a day.
At 18:05 on 6 March 2026, Pol Maj Gen Trairong Phiwpan, deputy spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, said after a meeting of the Center for Management and Monitoring of the Middle East Conflict Situation that regarding security in Thailand, due to tensions in the Middle East and the Prime Minister's order to urgently assist Thai nationals there, all units have been instructed to operate 24 hours a day.
The Royal Thai Police responded to this policy under the directive of Police Chief Pol Gen Kittirat Punpetch, who urgently ordered all units to prevent and suppress criminal offenses, maintain public order and national security, and ensure smooth and effective international relations. Security measures have been heightened for individuals, important locations, ambassadors, embassies, consulates, and government offices by coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the armed forces, and related agencies. They are monitoring situations and investigating foreigners who might commit offenses or break laws that could impact national security, especially in countries under surveillance, and have increased patrols and checkpoints at border entry points and natural passages.
Pol Maj Gen Trairong added that preparations have been made to handle airports in case Thai nationals return, coordinating with related agencies. Additionally, the Police Chief has ordered close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, member countries, Interpol, and diplomatic police channels to share information closely. They are closely monitoring social media across all platforms to prevent fake news or misinformation that might cause panic or constitute criminal offenses or computer crimes. Law enforcement will act and block illegal information that could threaten national security or international relations. The Royal Thai Police Operations Center will monitor the situation 24 hours a day.
Regarding foreigners affected by the Middle East situation who cannot leave Thailand, the Immigration Bureau has been instructed to tighten the approval process for extending stays to prevent foreigners from using this as a reason to remain in the country unlawfully and to stop foreigners from hiding within the country to seek opportunities to commit crimes.
The Police Chief has assigned Pol Gen Samran Nualma, Deputy Commissioner for Security Affairs, to oversee the overall operations of the Royal Thai Police.
