Immigration Police Division 3 Arrests Australian Drug Dealer Hiding in Thailand Before Extradition to Australia

Immigration Police Division 3 arrested an Australian drug dealer, a major suspect wanted under a Queensland arrest warrant, who fled to Thailand before being detained for extradition to Australia.

On 7 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanumas Boonylaksam, Commander of the Immigration Police, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Panthana Nuchnarat, Deputy Commander, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Songprod Sirisukha, Commander of Immigration Division 3, ordered Pol. Col. Suriya Puangsombat, Chief of the Investigation Division of Immigration Division 3, and Pol. Lt. Col. Pitipat Sritanaaphinan, Deputy Chief, to lead forces to arrest Mr. Isaac Emmanuel Roberts, 44, an Australian national, a key suspect wanted under 11 charges by Queensland, Australia, related to drug possession and manufacturing.

This follows coordination from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) in Thailand, which requested assistance from the Royal Thai Police to track and arrest Mr. Isaac Emmanuel Roberts. He is wanted for drug possession in 2019 and an attempted drug smuggling case into Indonesia in 2017. Authorities learned he recently entered Thailand on a tourist visa on 10 Feb.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Isaac Emmanuel Roberts was residing in a condominium in the Din Daeng area of Bangkok. Police arrested him and revoked his temporary stay permission under immigration law, as he falls under the category of prohibited foreigners. He was then detained for extradition to Australia to face legal proceedings.
