A man was arrested for stabbing his ex-wife to death on their bed. He claimed he asked to sleep with her, but the ex-wife refused, saying she was tired and wanted to rest. Angered, he stabbed her twice in the neck and was charged with intentional homicide.
At 06:30 on 8 March 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Khumsap Saengsawang, deputy investigation chief of Bang Khun Thian Police Station, received a report of a husband stabbing his wife to death. The incident occurred in a rented room on the first floor of a mansion opposite Soi Thoet Thai 82, Bang Wa subdistrict, Phasi Charoen district, Bangkok. Authorities, including Police Colonel Boonrot Lojaya, chief of Bang Khun Thian Police, Police Lieutenant Colonel Kittiphat Kaewsamang, deputy chief of the Crime Suppression Division, Police Lieutenant Colonel Khajorn Thuppakraisri, investigation officer, forensic officials, a forensic doctor from Siriraj Hospital, and volunteers from Poh Teck Tung Foundation, rushed to the scene.
The scene was a three-story residential building. Inside the room, the body of Ms. Winasda (surname withheld), 49, from Kalasin province, was found. She worked as a salesperson at a jewelry store in a well-known mall in Bang Khae. The body lay on her back on the bed with a pile of clothes beside her. She had two severe stab wounds to the neck.
At the scene, Mr. Saisamorn (surname withheld), 58, from Ubon Ratchathani province, a garbage collector employed by Phasi Charoen District Office and the victim’s ex-husband, was found holding a 25 cm bloodstained spatha knife. He was persuaded to lay down the knife and surrender.
Mr. Saisamorn said he and Ms. Winasda had a 15-year-old son together. The victim had two other children from a previous relationship and they no longer lived together. Both lived in the room where the incident occurred. Last year, he learned that his wife had a new partner and they divorced in December 2025 GMT+7. However, he still rented another room in the same mansion. Even after separating, they occasionally visited each other and sometimes slept together.
Before the incident, around 23:00 on 7 March 2026 GMT+7, he and his ex-wife went out drinking at a restaurant on Rama II Road. Both were intoxicated and returned to the room where he asked to sleep with her. She refused, saying she was tired and wanted to rest. They argued fiercely. In anger, he used the spatha knife, which he had found in the trash and kept in the room for some time, to stab her twice in the neck, causing her death. He then called Police Sub-Lieutenant Satthara Intasara, deputy patrol chief of Bang Khun Thian Police Station, whom he knew, before police arrived to arrest him.
He was charged with intentional homicide. The suspect and evidence were handed over to the Bang Khun Thian Police investigation officers for legal proceedings.
