At 03:30 on 10 March 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Sarayut Boonthong, Deputy Investigation Officer of Din Daeng Police Station, received a report of a private car losing control and hitting the bridge barrier on Chaturathit Road, falling into Makasan Pond. Two people were injured. The incident occurred at the road beside Makasan Pond intersecting Chaturathit Road, Makasan Subdistrict, Ratchathewi District, Bangkok. Officers rushed to the scene along with Police Colonel Phasit Kateuang-ngan, Chief of Makasan Police Station, and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
At the scene inside Makasan Pond near Chaturathit Road heading towards Phaya Thai, a black Toyota Yaris with license plate KNN 6213 Kalasin was found badly damaged and submerged in water. Two young women were identified: Ms. Sukrita Limprasert, 26, injured on her body and right leg, and Ms. Jidarat Jiraphatphuwanont, 29, with head and body injuries. They were calling for help from the pond shore. Volunteers used a basket to descend and assist, securing each person with a sling to lift them out one by one. A crane was then used to pull the car from the water. Both injured women were taken to Camillian Hospital.
At the scene, the concrete bridge barrier was damaged and one utility pole was broken.
